Chair-based Pilates can be done entirely seated or using the chair to assist in some standing exercises. Regular Pilates exercises can help improve posture, muscle strength, balance and joint mobility, as well as relieve tension.
So, if mat-based Pilates is not for you (due to difficulty getting up and down from the floor or other mobility issues), you might find chair-based Pilates is more appropriate. Focusing on the same core principles as mat-based Pilates, all exercises can be modified to individual abilities and fitness levels, and classes are shorter than mat-based classes
This new class is starting on 14th January 2025, and is run by a qualified Pilates teacher. This new class is in addition to our 2 regular mat based Pilates classes.
