We are a group of like-minded people who enjoy taking photographs. We are all amateurs with varying skill sets, using a phone, compact camera or SLR camera.
Each month we are tasked with taking 10 or so photographs on subject matter, to present the following month. We do this as a method of learning how to take better photographs. There is never harsh criticism, but friendly and constructive debate where it is due, this tone is vital for the success of the group. The atmosphere is good-humoured, but focused and interested. So far, we have had several different themes from the likes of ‘Texture’ or ‘Decay’ to ‘Flowers’, ‘Insects’ or the ‘Weather’.
Every now and then a group member may do a presentation on a particular subject, like: Rules of photography, Understanding exposure etc.
This is a self-teaching group to help us all take better photographs. If you’re interested and want to take better photographs, we meet at the George every 3rd Monday of the month.
